Biography[]
Yarp was born amongst a smaller sub group of stone giants, both shorter and leaner than standard stone giants. This sub group worked as servants of their larger cousins, serving as errand runners, herders, farmers and in other menial roles. Yarp and his family served a particularly brutal behemoth of a stone giant named Durp. When Yarp was reaching early adulthood at roughly 220 years old, Durp brutally murdered Yarp's parents, claiming they were too old to be of use to him anymore. Upon returning to his home, Yarp found his parents' lifeless bodies and flew into a blind rage. He confronted Durp in the courtyard of Durp's home, and a heated battle ensued between the two giants, ending after many hours only when Yarp managed to lure the near sighted Durp over a cliff. Following this incident, Yarp was thrown out of the stone giant community and threatened with death if he was ever to return, as was the custom of the stone giant religion. As was also the custom, the word 'savage' was carved into his chest, to forever remind him and the world of how Yarp had betrayed his people.
For the next 100 years, Yarp roamed the land, serving mostly as a mercenary in the armies of elvish princes. It was during this time that he developed a true martial style, basing it off of the fighting style of the dwarves of Frennos. During a skirmish between the dwarves of Frennos and the elvish lord Yarp was serving, the leader of the dwarves challenged Yarp to one on one combat, no small feat for a being roughly one quarter Yarp's size. The dwarven captain fought with reckless abandon, and though Yarp won the bout, the battle forever changed him.
Soon afterwards, Yarp was involved in a devastating battle that resulted in Yarp being captured and enslaved by evil elves. During this span of time Yarp was forced to fight as a gladiator, and in his time he never lost a match. For nearly 30 years Yarp was the most successful gladiator, sometimes fighting up to a dozen other combatants at once and coming out victorious. It was during his time as a gladiator that Yarp was noticed by the Battalion of the White Raven. They purchased his freedom and he served them faithfully as a frontline soldier.
Personality[]
Yarp has a relatively calm character outside of battle. He loves the forest and small woodland creatures. He lives rather spartanly, and does not favor luxurious items without any real purpose. He favors the just treatment of individuals and property when not in battle.
In battle, Yarp loses his calm and becomes a reckless brawler, caring little for his own well-being or that of others.
